Frances Lincoln has scooped a new book from Peter Ackroyd, examining London’s “fascinating relationship with colour”.
Philip Cooper, publisher, acquired world rights to Colours of London from Sonia Land at Sheil Land Associates. It will publish on 4th October 2022.
The publisher said: “London has been the main character in Ackroyd’s work ever since his first novel, and he has won countless prizes in both fiction and non-fiction for his truly remarkable body of work. Here, he channels a lifetime of knowledge of the great city, writing with clarity and passion about the hues and shades which have shaped London’s journey through history into the present day.”
The book will include specially commissioned colourised photographs from high-fidelity colour reconstruction specialist Dynamichrome, images which bring a lost London back to life.
Cooper said: “Peter Ackroyd is the leading writer on London and we are thrilled to add this wonderful new book to the Frances Lincoln list and to build on our reputation for publishing outstanding books on London and its history.”
