Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster UK, has acquired The Insomnia Cure – A 10-Step Programme to Cure Your Sleep by Dr Hugh Selsick.
Deputy publishing director Michelle Signore acquired world all-language rights in an 11-way auction from Valeria Huerta at Aevitas Creative Management, and the book will be published by Gallery in all formats in Spring 2027.
"Based on the author’s decades of experience and cutting-edge research in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)," the synopsis says, "this accessible and practical guide provides a 10-step plan to help readers understand insomnia, implement CBT-I strategies (including those to manage anxiety and retrain unhelpful sleep habits) and maintain long-term sleep improvement."
Adult rights director Amy Fletcher added: "We were inundated with offers and attempted pre-empts over the fair, and within one week there were auctions and offers confirmed in 10 territories (and counting!): Brazil, Czech, Greece, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain and Latin America, Turkey – and all of this on only a proposal."
Selsick said: "Insomnia impacts the lives of up to 10% of adults globally. I’m thrilled to partner with S&S to make the gold standard of therapy accessible to everyone struggling with insomnia, especially those who would otherwise be unable to receive treatment. This has been my lifelong mission."
Signore said: "We are becoming ever more aware that sleep is one of the crucial foundations for good health and longevity. Finally, here is an evidence-based, eminently practical and adaptable plan that will help so many people who are struggling with their sleep."
