Gallery YA, imprint of Simon & Schuster Children’s Books, has scored Juno Dawson’s “formidable” return to YA, Survival Show: DOLLHOU5E, in a six-figure deal.
The “rich dramatic” dystopian thriller follows Taryn Beck as she enters Starmaker, the most watched TV show in the New Alliance, a reimagined world after the war. Kids compete to join an all-singing, all-dancing pop outfit, DOLLHOU5E. There is only one catch: eliminated contestants are killed, so get ready to sing for your life!
Publisher Yasmin Morrissey bought world all-language rights to two titles in a six-figure deal, in an exclusive submission from Sallyanne Sweeney at MMB Creative, for publication in 2026.
Morrissey said: “Juno’s glorious return to YA has it all – drama, death and dystopia. I have long admired her writing, and this page-turning premise is everything I’ve wanted to see in YA for years. Inimitably Juno, Survival Show: DOLLHOU5E is a flawless blend of expert worldbuilding, gripping characters, dark humour and a thrilling plot that moves at break-neck speed. Honestly, I simply can’t stop thinking about it, and we are beyond proud to be Juno’s new home for her young adult publishing.”
Dawson author said: “This is the novel I was born to write. It’s all of my favourite things in one book: girl groups; pop music; reality TV; dystopia; satire; queer characters. As soon as I met the S&S team, they fully shared my giddy enthusiasm for both Taryn’s story, and the concept of a beautifully designed collector’s item. I can’t wait to greet a new generation of YA readers in 2026.”
Gallery YA will publish Survival Show: DOLLHOU5E in hardback, e-book and audio-book in 2026.
