Geri Halliwell-Horner writes 'exhilarating' adventure story for Scholastic

Scholastic has scooped Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen, an adventure story by author and former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell-Horner, secured in a two-book deal. 

Anthony Mattero at CAA brokered the two-book deal for UK rights with Linas Alsenas, executive editor at Scholastic UK. The UK edition will publish simultaneously in North America with Philomel Books, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers, in autumn 2023.

The adventure story follows orphaned Rosie Frost, who is sent to the mysterious Bloodstone Island – home to a school for extraordinary teens, but also a sanctuary for endangered species. "There, Rosie confronts a menacing deputy headmaster and a group of mean girls determined to destroy her as she discovers a shocking family secret. When forces threaten the island, Rosie knows she must win The Falcon Queen Games to save the animals she loves – but Rosie can’t do it alone. She finds that believing in herself and her friends, is the first step to finding the power she never knew she had."

Halliwell-Horner is a singer, writer, producer and actress who is widely recognised as Ginger Spice, an original member of the record-breaking girl group the Spice Girls. She is the successful author of the Ugenia Lavender book series and continues to work with the Royal Commonwealth to promote prospects through literacy to Commonwealth citizens. She is an outspoken supporter of animals and an ambassador of London Zoo.
