Graffeg has acquired four new Albert the Tortoise books by author Ian Brown and illustrator Eoin Clarke for publication in 2023 and 2024.
Following the publication of the first four Albert the Tortoise picture books, four brand-new stories based on exploring new parts of the garden and finding new friends have been acquired. The publisher holds world rights for the books.
Graffeg described the titles, based on Brown’s own tortoise Albert, as “the perfect demonstration of teamwork and friendship, as well as continuing the humorous antics of everyone’s favourite tortoise".
Brown said: “The deal with Graffeg has changed my life. Now it has changed even more. Both Eoin and I are thrilled to be signed up for more of these books.”
The previously published books in the series are entitled Albert Upside Down, Albert and the Wind, Albert Supersize and Albert in the Air.
Peter Gill, managing director of Graffeg, said: “‘We look forward to working with Ian and Eoin on these amazing books and can’t wait to see what all the characters get up to.”
Albert and the Pond will be published in June 2023; Albert and the Shed in September 2023; Albert and the Flood in June 2024 and Albert Party Time in September 2024.
