W H Allen has signed an “incredible guide to maximising potential”, Hidden Potential, by Adam Grant, author, TED podcast star and smart-thinking expert.
Editorial director Jamie Joseph acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Richard Pine at Inkwell Management. It will be published on 26th October 2023.
The publisher says that in Hidden Potential, Grant offers readers a new framework for raising aspirations and exceeding expectations “taking us from the classroom to the boardroom, the playground to the Olympics, and from underground to outer space".
The synopsis says: “He highlights that progress depends less on how hard you work than how well you learn; we can all improve at improving, and Grant shows us how.”
Grant is the author of Give and Take (W&N, 2013), Originals (Viking, 2016) and Think Again (W H Allen, 2021).
Joseph said: “No one writes books like Adam, packed with fascinating stories to take us inside mind-blowing, cutting-edge research, that gives us empowering ways to think about our lives and our aspirations.
“At the centre of Hidden Potential is the idea that character skills – how we embrace discomfort, build determination and accept imperfections – are more important than raw genius. So this is not a book about superstars. It’s about how anyone can rise to achieve greater things.”
