Guardian Faber nets 'hilarious' new collection from football illustrator David Squires
Guardian Faber has netted Chaos in the Box: Chronicles from Modern Football by David Squires.
Commissioning editor Fred Baty acquired world all-languages from David Luxton of David Luxton Associates. Publication is scheduled for November 2024.
The synopsis states: "Drawn from Squires’ regular football cartoons for the Guardian, Chaos in the Box charts the sport from 2018 through to the Men’s 2024 Euro championship. Covering events in the Premier League as well as international tournaments across the women’s and men’s game, the book captures modern football’s most memorable – and ludicrous – moments in Squires’ inimitable, hilarious style."
Squires said: "I sincerely hope readers enjoy looking back on my takes on the last six years of football mayhem, because otherwise the permanent damage I’ve done to my posture by hunching over my drawing board will have been for nothing."
