Hachette Children’s has snapped up Drive to Victory: Incredible Racing Stories from the Fastest Sport in the World from former Formula One driver and debut author Karun Chandhok.
Former senior commissioning editor Anna Martin acquired world rights directly from the author for publication in February 2025 under Wren & Rook. Helen Archer, commissioning editor, will now publish the book.
For readers aged nine and over, Drive to Victory introduces children to the "fast-paced world of motor racing" with stories from on and off the racing grid. The book also contain facts and statistics about the cars and "jaw-dropping" moments that made history.
Chandhok said: “I was fortunate to have a 17-year driving career that took me to the top of the sport in Formula One [F1]. Alongside my driving, I built a parallel career as a television broadcaster that has stemmed from the knowledge gained via all the books and magazines I read about F1 as a child. I felt that it was important to try and share some of this knowledge with the next generation of fans and hopefully this will make them fall in love with the exciting world of F1 just as I did.”
Archer added “Karun has such an impressive career and is truly the person to know when it comes to all things Formula One. I can’t wait for young readers to discover the incredible true stories from the world of motorsports and learn all the facts and stats that go in to making this the fastest sport in the world.”
