Hamish Hamilton will publish The School of Life: An Emotional Education from Alain de Botton’s The School of Life in September.
Billed as “a tried-and-tested guide to living better” and is introduced and edited by de Botton, author of The Consolations of Philosophy and The Course of Love (Penguin).
An Emotional Education will be published in hardback on 5th September 2019, priced £16.99.
“Emotional intelligence affects every aspect of the way we live, from romantic to professional relationships, from our inner resilience to our social success. It is the ultimate skill of the 21st century,” the synopsis reads.
The philosopher and author founded The School of Life 10 years ago to “offer practical guidance and wisdom from a team of world class specialists to people who want to lead more fulfilled lives,”
Hamish Hamilton said. “Now this extraordinary body of work is drawn together, shaped and introduced by de Botton himself, in an encyclopaedia of how we interact with each other and with ourselves, and how we can do so better. The book explores key areas including self-knowledge, understanding others, relationships, work and culture.”
De Botton is published in 30 countries. He lives in London, where he runs The School of Life and Living Architecture, a not-for-profit holiday home rental company.
