Octopus imprint Hamlyn has bagged a book of anecdotes, laugh-out-loud moments and uplifting life lessons from ITV panel show “Loose Women”, marking its 20th anniversary.
Publishing director Trevor Davies acquired world rights from Shirley Patton of ITV Studios Global Entertainment. Loose Women: Let Loose! will be published in October 2019.
Contributors to the book include show favourites Coleen Nolan, Janet Street-Porter, Gloria Hunniford, Nadia Sawalha, Jane Moore, Kaye Adams and Saira Khan. They will get personal in the book, talking about life, love, relationships and loss.
Its synopsis explains: “The women have come together to share intimate experiences and learnings, whether it is parenting advice from Nadia ‘It’s important to have a support network when you’re a new parent’; Gloria’s experience with bereavement ‘Losing a child changes you, you can’t be the same person’; Coleen’s feelings about love ‘I do believe there is “the one” – for now’; or Janet’s take on mental health ‘It doesn’t need to be triggered by splitting up or a death, it could be happening in small ways’, there are stories that have never been shared before alongside the show’s best bits, making Loose Women: Let Loose! a hilarious and honest guide to handling life's ups and downs as a 21st-century woman."
Davies said: “This autumn will see the 20th anniversary of 'Loose Women' and we’re truly excited to be publishing a book with a show that has become a much-loved pillar of ITV’s programming. The book reflects what regular viewers love: candid views, forthright opinions and plenty of surprising revelations. It brings together the panelists’ experiences on all the vagaries of modern life in an entertaining, honest and sometimes shocking way.”
Show editor Sally Shelford added: “Readers will be able to settle down on the sofa with a cuppa and enjoy honest, no-holds-barred revelations about the Loose Women’s biggest life lessons. Marriage, divorce, happiness and heartbreak – the Loose Women have experienced it all. In parts poignant, often humorous – and always truthful, you’ll laugh, love and learn with your panel of TV friends.”
