Hamlyn has dished up the second School of Wok book from Jeremy Pang, School of Wok: Jeremy Pang’s Simple Family Feasts.
Former publishing director Eleanor Maxfield acquired world all language rights from Richard Watts at Ever Forwards Partnership. It will be published in August 2023.
Jeremy Pang’s Simple Family Feasts champions "easy feasting", bringing together the flavours of east and south-east Asia in 80 "irresistible" recipes. Nine of the 10 chapters are dedicated to a different country in east and south-east Asia; the recipes can be made as an individual meal, or built into a larger meal by combining one or two other recipes and the whole chapter can be combined to make a "full-on banquet".
Like the first School of Wok book, Jeremy Pang’s Simple Family Feasts uses the "wok clock" technique which lays out the ingredients in a "clock formation" in the order they will be cooked. The second book also introduces the "feasting wheel to help you find a balance of colour, flavour and texture across dishes as well as providing the order of preparation, so you have a clear process for building a delicious, crowd‐pleasing feast".
Natalie Bradley, Hamlyn editorial director, commented: "Jeremy is on a mission to make us all ’wok stars’ and with his signature preparation techniques – the wok clock and now the feasting wheel – mealtimes could not be more straightforward."
Pang added: "Simple Family Feasts is a book for everyone and I hope that it gives readers the confidence to cook the most delicious Asian meals at home for friends and family or, if you are just pure greedy and want to keep all the recipes for yourself, then you’ve got that covered too."
