Hamlyn has served up Chetna Makan’s Easy Indian Vegetarian, a celebration of "fresh, authentic" Indian food.
Editorial director Natalie Bradley acquired world rights in all languages directly from the author for publication in July 2024.
Inspired from a recent trip Makan took to India where she met a number of influential cooks, Easy Indian Vegetarian features more than 80 "flavour-packed, creative and wholesome" recipes and 10 menu plans.
Makan was a semi-finalist on "The Great British Bake Off" in 2014 and has previously written The Cardamom Trail (Octopus), a "celebration of baking with Indian flavours". She commented: "Writing this book has been an adventure, meeting so many amazing women creating magic with food in their kitchens. To be able to watch them cook and hear them talk about food so passionately has given me endless joy. Creating the recipes for this book has not just taught me more about Indian food but also its beautiful culture, that I am very proud to call my own."
Bradley commented: "For years now, Chetna has been on a mission to make authentic Indian cooking accessible to everyone. In Easy Indian Vegetarian, Chetna shines a light on the very best of India’s vegetarian cuisine, brought to life through the stories of the home cooks she visited on her travels. This book is a joy to read and cook from, with dishes that are simple to make and utterly delicious to eat."
