Hardie Grant has announced the acquisition of Simple Inside by interiors guru Michelle Ogundehin, “a life-changing approach to health, healing and home".
Publishing director Kajal Mistry acquired world all-language rights from Rowan Lawton at the Soho Agency. Simple Inside will publish March 2024.
Originally trained as an architect, Ogundehin is head judge on the BBC flagship interiors show “Interior Design Masters” and has served on industry and educational juries, panels and advisory boards and has enjoyed a multi-award-winning 13 years as editor-in-chief of British ELLE Decoration.
Simple Inside is described by the publisher as “a toolbox of practical advice on how to use your home to unlock your best self".
It goes on: “Ogundehin reveals how good health starts at home with four simple steps: Clear, Cleanse, Colour and Curate. Readers will learn how to apply these four principles to their homes, room by room, and under each pillar, three access points are provided – The Easy Refresh, The Moderate Update and The Complete Overhaul – meaning they decide where they want to begin and how big a job they want to take on."
Ogundehin said: “Our habits and our habitats are interwoven with our health and emotions. Caring about the space that surrounds you, and the way it makes you act and feel, is fundamental to living well and staying healthy. But it’s easier than you think to get your home on side to support you with my simple four-step method.”
Mistry added: “With people spending more time at home than ever before, from day-to-day living, and now working, we want our homes to not only feel stylish, but to also be a place that sustains our overall well being. Simple Inside is a ground-breaking approach to interior design that will re-energise your surrounding space and improve your whole quality of life.”
