Hardie Grant has acquired three more books by chef, writer and “Masterchef” winner Tim Anderson, with the first in the deal, Ramen Forever, to be published on 28th September 2023.
Senior editor Eila Purvis acquired world rights from agent Holly Arnold. Ramen Forever will be followed by Anderson’s Microwave Meals in spring 2024, then Hokkaido in autumn 2024.
In Ramen Forever, the publisher says, “Tim shows you the tools for building your own ramen, just the way you like it! Whether you’re a novice in the kitchen, a laid-back cook, or an avid ramen enthusiast, this book has got you covered. Tim’s collection of recipes ensures that anyone, regardless of their culinary expertise, can savour the ultimate Japanese comfort food in their own home.”
Anderson is also the author of JapanEasy, Vegan JapanEasy, Tokyo Stories, for which he won the John Avery prize at the André Simon Awards, Your Home Izakaya and JapanEasy Bowls and Bento. Ramen Forever will be his sixth cookbook published with Hardie Grant.
Anderson said: “Since JapanEasy was released in 2017, people’s appetite for Japanese food has only grown. It’s a privilege and a joy to continue working with Hardie Grant as an enthusiast and educator for the cuisine that I have loved for so many years. I am also very excited to be publishing my first non-Japanese, but still Japanese-influenced, cookbook, focusing on the magic of microwave cookery.”
Publishing director of Hardie Grant London, Kajal Mistry, added: “Working with Tim is such a joyful experience. He possesses a unique talent as a chef, effortlessly simplifying and making things accessible to everyone, all while exuding charm and good humour. We’re so proud that Tim continues to choose Hardie Grant as his publishing home, and we can’t wait for the release of his upcoming books.”
