Hardie Grant signs Stephanie Yeboah début

Hardie Grant will publish the début book Fattily Ever After from award-winning plus-size blogger and freelance writer Stephanie Yeboah in September 2020.  
 
Kajal Mistry, commissioning editor at Hardie Grant, acquired world rights from literary agent Hattie Grunewald at The Blair Partnership. 

Fattily Ever After will see Yeboah "speak openly and honestly about her own experience of navigating life as a black, plus-sized woman and how she has managed to find self-acceptance in a world where judgement and discrimination are rife", reads the synopsis. 
 
Mistry said: "Until now, books about body positivity have focused on white women. In fact, the media generally has failed to take into account the experiences of plus-sized black women. Stephanie gives a voice to a community who have for too long been marginalised, ignored and even silenced: they are voices that demand to be heard. I am honoured to be able to work with Stephanie whose commitment, infectious energy and realness is a breath of fresh air."
 
Yeboah added: "I'm so excited to be releasing this book into the world, as I feel it's incredibly important for marginalised voices to be heard within the body positivity sphere. I wanted to write a book which not only details my personal anecdotes on navigating society as a plus-sized, black woman (as well as offering advice), but to also pass the mic over to the women who look like me and give them an opportunity to share their stories and perspectives on the world too."

Fattily Ever After: The Fat, Black Girls’ Guide to Living Life Unapologetically will be published by Hardie Grant on 3rd September 2020.
