HarperCollins has acquired world rights to two books from Don Winslow in “a major global publishing agreement”.
David Highfill, vice-president and executive editor for William Morrow in the US, brokered the deal with Shane Salerno at The Story Factory.
The books, scheduled to be published in 2021 and 2022 respectively by William Morrow in the US and HarperFiction in the UK, will be published directly by HarperCollins across several territories.
Julia Wisdom, crime and thriller publisher at HarperFiction, said: “Don Winslow is one of the pre-eminent contemporary American crime writers and a remarkable chronicler for our times. His work goes from strength to strength... [he is] one of the all-time greats. We cannot wait to bring his new books to readers across the globe.”
Winslow has written 20 novels, with The Force, published in July, his fourth consecutive New York Times bestseller. He has been nominated three times for the Ian Fleming Steel Dagger and once for the Gold Dagger for Best Novel.
