HarperCollins has signed a four-book deal with Sarah Morgan including two Christmas themed titles.
Cannary Street editorial director Susan Swinwood acquired world rights from Susan Ginsberg at Writers House LLC. All four books will be published with HQ, an imprint of HarperCollins. The first book in the deal, The Christmas Book Club, was published in October 2023 and debuted at number one in the Sunday Times paperback fiction charts upon publication. Another Christmas-themed title will be published in autumn with the remaining two following in early summer 2024. Morgan is published in north America by Canary Street, an imprint of HarperCollins.
"I’m impressed with how Manpreet [Grewal] and the HQ team are always thinking ahead, in terms of design, pricing strategy and building sales," said Ginsburg. "They push harder for each new book of Sarah’s – they set the bar so high for themselves, and then over-deliver. They are a wonderful home for Sarah, and I can’t wait to work on more bestsellers with them."
Morgan’s The Summer Seekers was shortlisted in the Pageturner Book of the Year category at the British Book Awards 2022. She said: "It’s a joy to work with the brilliant team at HQ who handle my books and I can’t wait to see what they do next.“
HQ publisher, Manpreet Grewal said “I’m proud of everything we’ve achieved with Sarah’s brand over the years. She’s writing the best books of her career, and it’s a testament to her skill as a storyteller that readers, new and returning, continue to find and fall in love with her stories.”
