HarperCollins Children’s Books has acquired two children’s non-fiction books by journalist and author, Mike Rampton.
World rights were acquired by editorial director Holly Tonks from Julia Churchill at AM Heath Literary Agents.
The first book, Become a Genius in a Year, which will include a series of “engaging and hilarious" facts aimed at seven-to-11 year olds, will be published in paperback in May 2025.
Rampton said: “I am beyond thrilled to be working with HarperCollins Children’s Books to create a generation of super-geniuses. I have 100% confidence they will all use their towering superhuman intellects for good, and that none of them will use their colossal brainpower in selfish or terrifying ways.”
Tonks said: “We are absolutely delighted to be welcoming Mike to HarperCollins Children’s Books. Mike has a unique and incredible talent for delivering information in a fresh, engaging and hilarious way. I know these books will have kids learning while laughing out loud.”
The details of Rampton’s second book for the imprint are yet to be announced.
