HarperCollins Children’s Books will this November publish a collection of books about Dr Seuss's famous character The Grinch to tie-in with the upcoming film adaptation.
The publisher will release The Grinch Story of the Movie (a novelisation, p/b £5.99), The Grinch Movie Sticker Book (p/b, £7.74) and Movie Colouring Book (£3.99 p/b) on 9th November, the same day that Universal Pictures brings out a new version of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" in cinemas.
The new film features Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of the Grinch and is based on the 1957 Dr Seuss title of the same name. The story is about a cynical grump who goes on a mission to steal Christmas, only to have his heart changed by a young girl’s generous holiday spirit. A previous film of the book came out in 2000.
HarperCollins has been the UK publisher of Dr Seuss books for more than 60 years and the deal for the latest books was made as part of their ongoing partnership with the Seuss Estate.
Last year, HarperCollins Children’s Books has signed an exclusive deal with Dr Seuss Enterprises to publish 45 classic titles in e-book format with synchronised audio. It also published a gift edition of What Pet Should I Get? in 2015.
According to HarperCollins, Dr Seuss has sold more than a billion books worldwide and is one of the UK’s and Australia’s top 10 favourite children’s authors.
