HarperCollins has acquired Nasheema Lennon’s Going, Going, Gone.
Former commissioning editor Daisy Watt bought world English-language rights, including film/TV rights, from Francesca Riccardi at Kate Nash Literary Agency, for publication in paperback, e-book and audiobook in November 2025.
The synopsis states: "Going, Going, Gone is a psychological thriller about a home renovation with deadly consequences. Imani returns to her hometown 20 years after her best friend, Kaitlin, went missing to tackle a restoration project and her own unresolved grief. But soon, secrets and fresh accusations about Kaitlin’s disappearance start to come out of the woodwork."
Lennon is the author of The Engagement (HarperNorth), which was shortlisted for an Owned Voices Award.
Genevieve Pegg, publisher at HarperNorth, said: "Going, Going, Gone is a thriller with wall-to-wall intrigue and surprises around every corner. We’re so excited to be working with Nasheema to introduce readers everywhere to Going, Going, Gone’s terrifying premise and darkly compelling cast of characters.”
Lennon added: "I can’t wait for readers to meet Imani, whose guilt, secrets and grief look set to rip apart the new life she has so carefully created for herself. She may have tried to leave her past behind her, but some secrets are just not meant to stay hidden, no matter how deeply they were buried."
