HarperCollins signs memoir by The Jonas Brothers

HarperCollins has signed a "funny, irreverent, and eye-opening" memoir by the pop band The Jonas Brothers, which will publish on 11th November 2021.

Carrie Thornton, vice president and editorial director of Dey Street Books, acquired world rights for Blood: A Memoir by The Jonas Brothers from Byrd Leavell and Albert Lee at United Talent Agency.

The book is the first time the brothers, Kevin, Joe and Nick, have shared their complete story from their Disney days through to their contentious break-up in 2013 and reunion in 2019, when they released their single “Sucker” and the album "Happiness Begins", both of which debuted at number one. 

Blood alternates between the perspectives of each brother, with additional material by Neil Strauss, a writer for Rolling Stone. The publisher said: "In turns funny, irreverent, and eye-opening, it’s an unencumbered look at the ranks of fame and stardom, and a story of learning to find individuality within the blood ties of band and family. With over 70 photos—some exclusive and never before seen— Blood is a deeply personal portrait of one family’s survival in the high-stakes world of pop music as well as a feat of brother-to-brother storytelling."

Joe Jonas said: “This book is intense! I think I overshared," while brother Kevin added: “We all did. That's what memoirs are about. Telling your truth.” Nick said: “But what if your truth is different than mine...?”
