HarperCollins signs second book by rugby star James Haskell

HarperCollins has signed rights to a second book by former England rugby player, James Haskell. 

Executive publisher Oliver Malcolm acquired world all-language rights for HarperNonFiction from literary agent Clare Hulton. Ruck Me (I’ve Written Another Book) will be published on 11th November 2021. 

In the book Haskell speaks to ex-colleagues, friends and family, while reflecting on his career and most memorable personal anecdotes to date. It follows on from the publication last year of his first memoir What a Flanker, also released by HarperCollins. 

Haskell said: “I absolutely loved writing What a Flanker and I’m thrilled to have the chance to tell more stories from my rugby career and beyond. I’ve used the last year or so in the pandemic to really reflect on everything in my life so far, and this book is the culmination, including every hilarious misstep and downright messy anecdote. I can’t wait for everyone to read it and to continue working with HarperCollins.” 

Malcolm added: “It’s very rare that a sequel to a hit book comes out which is even funnier than the original. I am delighted to confirm that Ruck Me has all the wit and flair of What a Flanker, but with an even bigger (frankly enormous!) dollop of mischief...”
