HarperCollins has acquired For the Love of Food, the first cookbook by award-winning chef Paul Ainsworth.
Pavilion editor Ellen Simmons acquired world all-language rights from Sara Law at SL Artist Management. For the Love of Food will be published on 4th July 2024 in hardback and e-book format.
“Paul Ainsworth has spent a lifetime working in Michelin-starred kitchens – from Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London to his own restaurant Paul Ainsworth at No6 in Cornwall,” Pavilion said.
“In 2023, Paul was crowned Chefs’ Chef of the Year – an award voted for by chefs at restaurants that hold AA rosettes. He was awarded his first Michelin star in 2013. At the heart of the Ainsworth Collection is a successfully cultivated ethos of good food and good people, and this generous approach is extended to the recipes that are collected in his debut cookbook, 18 years in the making.”
Pavilion described For the Love of Food as “a world of warm, welcoming and joyfully crafted dishes that redefine everyday enjoyment”, which bridges the gap between traditional home cooking and restaurant-quality food.
Ainsworth said: “This cookbook includes some of my favourite recipes from the past 18 years. It also pays homage to the amazing people who have supported and shaped me as a chef, from my wonderful parents and tutors to the late-great Gary Rhodes, Marcus Wareing, and Gordon Ramsay, who continues to share his friendship and guidance today.
“Throughout the book, I have shared my journey as a chef and the stories behind each dish. This cookbook is designed to be used daily, for all occasions, by cooks of all levels. I hope the recipes will inspire you and show you how to take your cooking to the next level.”
Simmons said: “Paul’s kindness, positivity and unwavering dedication to hard work is inspiring. You’ll see how this ethos started with the hospitality of his parents’ guest house; cemented by invaluable mentorship.
“His deep respect for the Cornish way of life, where collaboration trumps competition, is evident in his approach to building award-winning establishments – he’s all about enriching the community, not just his own success.”
