HarperCollins has scooped Much More to Come: Lessons on the Mayhem and Magnificence of Midlife by the founder of Noon.org.uk and former editorial director of the Sunday Times, Eleanor Mills.
Lisa Milton, m.d. and publisher at HQ, Mills & Boon and Pavilion, acquired world all-language rights from Katie Fulford at Bell Lomax Moreton. It will publish on 1st August 2024.
The synopsis says: “By the time we reach 50, over half of women have been through at least five big life challenges: divorce, bereavement, redundancy, coping with tricky teenagers, or elderly parents falling ill or dying. Much More to Come is a trailblazing guide that will empower women to survive and thrive during this pivotal life stage, rebranding midlife as an age of opportunity; a time for transformation and reinvention. Featuring a breadth of stories from women around the world as well as practical takeaways, the book will support readers to triumph in the face of challenges, embrace joy and find their power.”
Mills said: “After 25 years at the top of the UK media, I realised there was a huge hole where positive narratives of women in midlife should be. When I hit my own midlife pivot, I wanted to reinvent and start a new chapter; Much More to Come is the guide I was seeking when I hit that dark place. Through inspirational stories of reinvention, it demonstrates how midlife is not a crisis but a chrysalis; a gateway to our Queenager years when we finally become the women we always wanted to be.”
Milton said: “Eleanor is an extraordinarily talented writer, and this book is urgently needed by so many women. Women in their midlife are all-too-often forgotten or dismissed, and in this vital book, Eleanor reinforces and celebrates the power and wisdom that older women hold. We’re so proud to be publishing her.”
