HarperCollins has struck a new two-book deal with Dawn O'Porter.
Kimberley Young, publisher of general fiction, HarperFiction acquired all language rights to two new novels, which will explore women's lives in a "frank fearless way", from Sington and Co.
The new deal coincides with the hardback publication of Dawn O’Porter’s second adult novel, So Lucky, and the launch of the accompanying ‘So Lucky’ podcast series with the author, which will see O'Porter interview guests including, Matt Haig, Giovanna Fletcher and Sara Pascoe, about the role that luck has played in their lives. The 12-episode series will launch at the beginning of November and a new episode will drop weekly.
Young said: "With her bold and brilliant debut, The Cows, Dawn showed that she’s never one to follow the herd, and I love how she continues to push the boundaries in her writing. She’s a dream to work with and I’m in awe of her creativity and unique view of the world, which she puts on the page with such incredible relatability. I can’t wait for readers to discover So Lucky and I, for one, feel amazingly lucky to continue to publish such a talented author and to embark on our new podcast venture."
O’Porter added: "I found a great home at HarperCollins. My editor, Kimberley, never holds me back. There is no taming, no playing it safe. I have a free run to push my characters to their limits, and that is all I could ask for. I am endlessly amazed by the efforts of the marketing and PR and sales teams. Seeing posters for The Cows in train stations across London was a true highlight of my career."
