HarperCollins has snapped up Ramble Book 2 by comedian, podcaster and director Adam Buxton.
Mudlark publishing director Joel Simons acquired world all-languages from Caroline Chignell at PBJ. Ramble Book 2 will be published on 29th August 2024.
"Taking readers and podcats alike on a journey into 1990s nostalgia, Adam writes about his burgeoning career as a late night cult icon on Channel 4 alongside his childhood friend Joe Cornish”, the publisher said. “Funny, tender, and cut through with Adam’s hysterical asides, the book is likely to delight his ever-growing fanbase and the many thousands who came out in force for Ramble Book.”
Buxton said: “What was it like to help define the DIY TV genre with Joe Cornish in the 1990s years before YouTube? Why did cult success make me such a pain in the arse to work with? Which Britpop star forced me to take drugs and become a 1990s cliche? Who was the greatest comedian l ever passed out on? Who should I blame for my Mum’s sudden death during the 2020 lockdown? The Tories, or myself? What was funny about the spiral of grief, and anxiety that followed? Should I throw out my parents’ photos? Should I read their diaries? What should I do with my Mum’s tights? What’s it like to be in a family with a professional navel gazer? What are the latest entries in my Argument With Wife Log? How’s Rosie doing?
“These and other important questions of our age will be answered in gorgeously printed physical form and lovingly recorded audiobook form in Ramble Book 2, which I’m delighted to be working on once again with Mudlark and HarperCollins.”
