HarperCollins is publishing a Christmas colouring book from Liberty London telling the “enchanting story” of the 143-year-old department store.
Christmas at Liberty is a festive colouring book by Liberty London with over 70 designs to colour. HarperNonFiction commissioning editor Lydia Good struck the deal with Adam Gauntlett at Peter Fraser Dunlop for the title, which features more than 70 colour designs. It was announced on Wednesday (25th July) to coincide with Liberty’s July Christmas Press Day and will be published on 18th October.
“The book will tell the enchanting story of Liberty at the most magical time of the year, through beautiful prints to colour, exclusive poetry, and notes from the designers,” a HarperCollins spokesperson said. “The story of Liberty is woven into the colouring book, with brand new prints for Christmas 2018 and some classic Liberty favourites, accompanied by anecdotes and descriptions of what inspires the collections from the designers themselves.”
Madeleine Macey, marketing and communications director at Liberty, said: “We are very proud of the colouring book we have created with HarperCollins, and really feel that it shows the magic and history of Liberty. We wanted the owners of this book to be taken on a journey with our most special prints, which we carefully selected to tell our Christmas story.
"The book is a good balance between intricate, thoughtful artworks and more naïve fantastical, festive scenes for all ages and abilities to enjoy together; the true spirit of Christmas.”
Good added: “We’re so thrilled to be publishing this beautiful Christmas gift book with Liberty – everyone’s favourite department store. The creative team at Liberty are a dream to work with and have effortlessly instilled the magic of Christmas into this gorgeous book, which peels back the layers of history and enchantment at the core of their store and the beautiful print designs they are best known for.”
