HarperCollins has triumphed in a six-way auction for Good Time Cooking: Show-stopping menus for easy entertaining, the first book from freelance chef Rosie MacKean.
Commissioning editor Kiron Gill acquired world all language rights from Rachel Conway at Georgina Capel Associates for publication on 12th September 2024.
In Good Time Cooking, MacKean shares more than 90 recipes across 20 multi-course menus, equipping readers to host a gathering “with confidence and style”. Each menu has options to create dishes ahead of the event and comes with a “curated time plan”.
The publisher added: “The dishes are vibrant, celebratory and exceedingly delicious, with menus themed by occasion, necessity, or cuisine – including date night, the first BBQ of the summer, hosting with short notice, and plenty of Italian influence, too.”
MacKean said: “Good Time Cooking is a dinner party bible to suit different occasions, requirements and moods. Feeding a crowd can be intimidating but this book makes it not only achievable but also pleasurable. Cooking for a good time should be a good time in itself, no? Every single dish is planned out for you, whether you are just making one recipe or a whole menu, you also have options to get ahead. I wanted this book to be a friend on your shoulder, helping you keep calm and confident, making beautiful food for people you love a dream come true.”
Gill added: “Rosie lets you in on all the ways to take the stress out of entertaining whatever the occasion may be. Her guidance throughout the book is like having a skilled friend in the kitchen, empowering you to create unforgettable meals and cherished memories around the table. Her menus enable any host to wow their guests without losing their whole evening to cooking, so they can relax and enjoy their own dinner party, too.”
