HarperCollins has bought two more books from Dawn O’Porter.
Kimberley Young, executive publisher for HarperFiction, acquired world rights from Sington & Co to two new novels from the Sunday Times bestselling author, broadcaster, scriptwriter and podcaster.
The deal will extend O’Porter’s publishing with HarperFiction to 2027 and beyond, “cementing the publisher’s ambitious plans to establish her as a leading voice in contemporary fiction", the publisher said.
The new deal coincides with the paperback publication of O’Porter’s latest novel, Cat Lady (HarperCollins). All three of her adult novels, The Cows, So Lucky and Cat Lady, have been Sunday Times bestsellers, as was her lockdown non-fiction title, Life in Pieces (all published by HarperCollins).
Young said: “Dawn is a one-of-a-kind talent who brings unrivalled warmth, candidness and relatability to her storytelling. She gets better with each and every book, pushing the boundaries of her creativity, and her fearless approach allows us to be equally bold and brave in our publishing.”
O’Porter, who is based in Los Angeles, said: “I couldn’t be happier to sign another two-book deal with HarperCollins. The journey from the initial idea to holding a real-life book in my hand becomes more and more enjoyable. I love how they push me to be a brave writer, and never hold me back.”
