HarperNonFiction has seized “The Apprentice” star and businessman Tom Skinner’s guide to ‘smashing life’.
Publishing director Kelly Ellis acquired world all language rights for Graft: How to Smash Life from Press Box PR, Skinner’s management, and will publish in hardback, e-book and audiobook on 14th September 2023.
The synopsis reads: “Entrepreneur and east London grafter Tom Skinner has spent a lifetime on market stalls and has an eye for opportunity. From the age of 16, he has sold everything from laughing monkeys to luxury mattresses, and this entrepreneurial edge saw him take part in series 15 of ‘The Apprentice’ in 2019. He has since gone on to build a platform of more than 850,000 followers across Twitter, Instagram and TikTok, to whom he gives daily doses of motivational advice while he has breakfast at Dino’s café in the East End.
“Tom now shares further insight in Graft. From fuelling yourself with a big breakfast to the importance of making mistakes and why the early bird always catches the worm, Tom shares his story and reveals how you too can make your own luck using the simple mantras he abides by, and how to bounce back off the ropes when it feels like you’re down and out. Graft is a window into the world of a professional wheelerdealer who seizes every day and makes the most of everything it offers.”
Skinner said: “I was over the moon when HarperCollins contacted me about publishing my own book. I’m just a geezer from Romford who loves grafting. I love getting out of bed every day, fuelling up on a Dino’s breakfast and encouraging my followers to smash the day. I’m delighted to be sharing my tips with you all. Go on, give it a 110% and buy my book. BOSH!”
Ellis added: “We are all so excited about publishing Tom’s first book. With his no-nonsense, upbeat life advice, Tom is fast becoming a voice of the people and his book is a true reflection of that. It’s eye-wateringly funny! Despite his sunny outlook, things don’t always go right for Tom… but he’s lived and learned, and now he’s very well placed to help others do the same. Get out there, buy his book and feel 110% better.”
