HarperNorth is bringing forward Lisa Nandy’s book offering “an alternative vision for Britain’s future”.
Jonathan de Peyer, senior commissioning editor, acquired world all language rights to All In: How to Build a Country That Works directly from the Wigan MP. The book, due to publish in March 2023, will now publish in hardback, e-book and audio on 24th November 2022, backed by an “ambitious” publicity and marketing campaign.
The publisher said: “In this brilliant and accessible intervention, Lisa Nandy reveals how Britain can leave behind the mess in which we find ourselves. All In charts a course towards a fairer, more equal, more prosperous country by drawing on the greatest asset we have – each other. Nandy argues that rapid global changes, political division and economic crisis have left Britain reeling. For decades, large swathes of the country have been shut out, condemned to low productivity, underinvestment and managed decline, and stripped of their voice.
“All In shows how, by handing power and resources to people with a stake in the outcome, Britain can draw on the talent, assets and potential in every part of the country and start firing on all cylinders again. Finding strength rather than fear in our differences, it reimagines the relationship between people and government so that all of us can play our part in meeting the challenges of our age and rebuilding Britain the only way that works – together.”
De Peyer said: “Britain is in crisis. Lisa is one of the stars of frontline politics and in this incredibly timely book she lays out a hopeful alternative vision for the country that now looks more than ever like it might be enacted. She has fresh ideas, a knack for a pithy phrase and displays remarkable empathy for people’s lived experiences. She’s also admirably frank, which has made her very fun to edit!”
Nandy added: “For too long much of Britain has been written off, stripped of its voice and subjected to so-called managed decline. It is more urgent now than ever that we rebuild our country, and there’s only one way to do it: together. I’m delighted to be working with HarperNorth, who uniquely understand the role the north has played in building modern Britain, and the role we will continue to play in shaping our future.”
