HarperNorth has bought a new book from singer, presenter and agony aunt Coleen Nolan, co-written with writer Julie Shaw.
Genevieve Pegg, publisher, acquired world all-language rights from Martin O’Shea at Bold Management and Andrew Lownie. The book will be published in hardback, e-book and audio this autumn.
The blurb reads: “Inspired by her own healing journey and her podcast discussing grief, the book draws not only on Coleen’s personal experience of bereavement, having faced the loss of close family members, but also brings together the brave and honest and sometimes darkly comic conversations she’s had with friends and guests on her podcast, which tackle the many differing kinds of grief we all face through our lives – whether that be losing a spouse, sibling or friend, a sudden loss or mourning a beloved pet.”
Pegg said: “Coleen is loved for the warmth, generosity and honesty in the advice and experience she shares and I knew from the moment I read the opening chapter, this was a book that would help people feel supported in their toughest times – whether you need to crack a joke or shed a tear, you’ll find understanding in the stories shared here.”
O’Shea said: “Coleen’s hit podcast on dealing with grief last year was a revelation – it dealt with an incredibly difficult subject in a way which audiences really appreciated and responded to. This book feels like an important work to Coleen and all of us and with HarperNorth and Julie Shaw we know it will reach a huge audience.”
