HarperVoyager has netted two fantasy series from TikTok star A K Mulford.
Natasha Bardon, publishing director, acquired world English rights from Jessica Watterson at Sandra Dijkstra Literary Agency in a co-publication deal with David Pomerico at HarperVoyager US.
The Five Crowns of Okrith series features two previously self-published titles, The High Mountain Court and The Witches’ Blade, which are currently available in e-book format but scheduled for print publication on 29th September. The third instalment, The Rogue Crown, will follow on 27th October.
Mulford’s other forthcoming trilogy, beginning with River of Golden Bones, the first book in The Golden Court series, is a brand-new romantic fantasy centered around two sisters, Calla and Briar, exiles from a fallen court destroyed by a powerful witch. Werewolves hidden among the humans, they are the true power in the land, and a marriage with another pack could bring them back to where they belong: the throne of the Golden Court. But each victory only reveals more rifts between the werewolves, and the humans, and it will take courage, love and blood to rebuild their kingdom and ensure peace throughout the continent. River of Golden Bones will be publishing in 2023.
Mulford said: “I am thrilled to be a part of the HarperVoyager family and for their support of the diversity and inclusivity in The Five Crowns of Okrith series. I’m very excited for new readers to discover this series and to take them on this new adventure with us.”
Watterson added: “When I first read The High Mountain Court I knew immediately this series and A K Mulford had all the makings to become an even bigger success in the traditional sphere and I couldn’t be more excited for many new readers to discover the magic in these book’s pages!”
Bardon also commented: “A K Mulford’s books are a perfect blend of dark romantasy, elves and magic – who doesn’t have a soft spot for that? We’re delighted to welcome A K Mulford to the global team and launch a brand new series to existing and new fans alike.”
