Audible has announced a new thriller, One More to Die, by number one best-selling author, Joy Ellis. The thriller will be voiced by Hayley Atwell.
Robin Morgan-Bentley, director of Scripted Drama and Original Books at Audible, acquired global English rights from Lorella Belli at Lorella Belli Literary Agency. One More to Die will be available exclusively on Audible on 8th August 2024.
The brand new audiobook, exclusive to Audible, introduces smart, happy-go-lucky mum of three, Detective Inspector Kate Carter, voiced by Hayley Atwell (known for "Agent Carter", "Mission: Impossible", "Captain America") as she leads a team to investigate the murder of a man found in the wreckage of a car.
Upon discovering a vital clue in the form of a vintage vinyl record from 1964, the team are set upon a suspenseful journey of twists and turns as they set out on a mission to discover the truth.
Meanwhile, following a series of phone calls, notes and unwanted gifts from a person whose identity remains a mystery, Detective Inspector Kate soon finds herself contending with something dark in her own life as she can no longer deny she is victim to an obsessive stalker.
Ellis said: "It’s a pleasure to write an exclusive for Audible, and then to find I have such a fantastic narrator. Hayley Atwell is an incredible actor and is perfect for the voice of Detective Inspector Kate Carter. This is a story I’ve had in my mind for a while, and it reveals that even the brightest life can suddenly be threatened by darkness."
Ellis is a crime author from Lincolnshire who joined independent digital publisher Joffe Books in 2016. She has written three series, totalling 29 books, all of which are available on Audible. The Jackman and Evans series is currently being developed for television, starring Richard Armitage as DI Rowan Jackman. Ellis’ works have been translated into 14 languages.
