HarperCollins Children’s Books has unveiled David Walliams’ “funniest book yet”, The Blunders. It will be illustrated by Adam Stower and publish on 12th October 2023.
The publisher said: “Absurd and hilarious, The Blunders is David Walliams’ funniest book yet – a laugh-out-loud tale of the most blundering and lovable family in history! A hugely entertaining adventure that combines timeless, non-stop comedy, the wild inventiveness of comics, a crumbling old house and a madcap family full of heart, humour and hare-brained ideas, it will delight children and adults alike.”
Fiction Publisher Nick Lake said: “I always laugh out loud at David Walliams’ books, but this is the first that has made me laugh out loud on every single page. The Blunders is a comic triumph, ridiculously funny and stunningly illustrated in an amazing new style by the versatile Adam Stower, working with black lines that recall Ronald Searle and perfectly complement the classic country-house comedy. The Blunders is going to bring so much joy to so many millions of readers.”
Walliams added: “It’s my funniest book yet. I can’t wait for everyone to meet the most eccentric family of all time, the Blunders. It was a blast to write and I hope will be a blast to read too.”
Stower commented: “The Blunders has been a joy to illustrate. It brings together all the things I love in a story —hilarious comedy, madcap action and a family of loveable eccentrics. Even Blunder Hall and the ancient family Rolls Royce are brimming with character. I’ve had so much fun. I hope the readers love it too.”
