HCG buys picture book on the power of positive thinking

Hachette Children’s Group (HCG) has acquired Ready, Rabbit?, a picture book about overcoming social anxiety by Fiona Roberton.

Group picture book publisher Emma Layfield, who bought world rights from Caroline Walsh at David Higham, said: “Fiona proves she is the master of creating a resonant emotional landscape with simple, crispline drawings and minimal detail. Ready, Rabbit? is a sweet and funny story about the power of positive thinking that will resonate with children and adults.”

In the story Little Rabbit has been invited to a party. He knows there will be carrot and cake but worries about the party being too loud, and about if he will get tired and want to come home.  

Ready, Rabbit? will be published in hardback in January 2020. The paperback will follow in April 2020.
