Rikin Parekh has signed his first author-illustrator deal with Hachette Children’s Group (HCG).
Parekh, who illustrated James Bishop’s Iguana Boy series (Hodder Children's Books), has created Fly Tiger Fly, a funny story about the power of friendship. He uses traditional mediums for his artwork, including dip pens and indian ink for the linework and water colour, inks and crayons for the colour.
HCG acquired world rights to two books from Claire Cartey at Holroyde Cartey Limited.
Editor Emily Lamm said: “We knew that Rikin was an exceptional illustrator from his work on the Iguana Boy series, so we’re very excited to launch him as a stellar new picture book talent. Fly Tiger Fly is the perfect showcase for his warm, silly humour and flair for characterisation.”
