Hachette Children’s Group is publishing a new book in the Rainbow Magic series inspired by the Toys AndMe YouTube channel, presented by child YouTuber Tiana.
Licensing director Katie Price and Orchard editor Anna Solemani acquired the UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, from Laura Edwards at iLike Media.
HCG will publish Tiana the Toy Fairy on 20th October at Kidtropolis, a gaming festival in London this half-term, at which Tiana will sign copies of the book on 25th October. The publisher is a digital promotional campaign via the Toys AndMe channel, as well as the existing Rainbow Magic fans.
Price said she was “extremely excited” to be working with the YouTuber. She added: “The collaboration is in line with the group’s licensing strategy to attract top YouTube talent.”
The Rainbow Magic series, owned by HIT Entertainment and published by HCG division Orchard Books, is a multi-authored series published under the pen name ‘Daisy Meadows’. According to HCG, the series has racked up sales of 30 million copies since its inception in 2003.
