Head of Zeus, part of Bloomsbury Publishing, has acquired three new novels from Faith Hogan, author ofThe Bookshop Ladies (Aria).
Rosie de Courcy acquired world English-language rights in a three-book deal from Judith Murdoch at Judith Murdoch Literary Agency prior to leaving the publisher this summer. The first novel, The House at Ocean’s End, will be published in hardback as a lead title in the summer of 2025, with the additional novels being published in 2026 and 2027. Translation rights in the three books have been retained by the author.
The synopsis states: "The House at Ocean’s End takes Hogan back into the Ballycove setting that has become a staple of her recent novels and places it on Pin Hill Island, just off the coastline, where three women, at differing stages in life, will come together in a faded Art Deco house to face their pasts. Devastating secrets will be shared, and new relationships will be formed as each comes to terms with what has happened and learns that a family can be found through friendship."
Aubrie Artiano, editorial director for Aria, said: "Faith’s ability to draw readers in with her brilliant characterisation and sense of place is wonderful and both her reviews and her fans tell us every day how much they anticipate a new novel."
Hogan added: "The House at Ocean’s End has been a joy to write, with characters that filled up my heart long before they strode across the page – their story simply demanded to be told. I am looking forward to sharing it with readers in 2025."
