Head of Zeus has signed a two-book deal from former FBI director James Comey, beginning with his debut legal thriller Central Park West.
Nicolas Cheetham, c.e.o., acquired UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, from Linda Biagi on behalf of Otto Penzler at Mysterious Press. Central Park West will be published in hardback, trade paperback, e-book and audio on 8th June 2023.
The novel is a "fast-paced" thriller with an "intriguing plot enriched by real-life details and experiences". Comey draws from his time in federal law enforcement, including time spent as a mob prosecutor and chief federal prosecutor. The publisher continued: "That unique perspective gives the novel much of its allure, but it’s the unforgettable characters, shocking twists, and courtroom scenes as authentic as they are dramatic that will leave readers looking forward to more from this bold new talent in the genre."
Comey said: "I’m excited to take readers inside fascinating worlds I’ve come to know from my time in government and the private sector. These stories are fiction but, inspired by real work I’ve done, they will offer a rarely-seen view of interesting people and institutions."
Cheetham added: “From crime fighter to crime writer, what could be a more exciting prospect than a legal thriller from FBI legend James Comey by way of legendary crime publisher Otto Penzler?”
