Head of Zeus has snapped up Stay in the Light and another new title by A M Shine, the author of the horror novel The Watchers.
Greg Rees bought world rights from John Baker at Bell Lomax. Stay in the Light - the sequel to The Watchers - will be published in hardback and e-book in October, with the next book to follow in late 2025.
Shine draws on the horror tradition of Poe and Lovecraft, while also imbuing his books with "an exciting new twist for the twenty-first century". The movie adaptation of The Watchers was released by Warner Bros. on 7th June.
Rees said: "It’s an absolute pleasure to be working with such a talented author. The team and I are thrilled to be publishing these new novels from one of the key voices in modern horror writing.”
Nicolas Cheetham, managing director of Head of Zeus, added: "A M Shine’s atmospherically spare prose conjures dark new terrors from Ireland’s landscape and folklore. He’s in the vanguard of the horror genre’s latest incarnation."
Shine said: "I’m so proud to count amongst Head of Zeus’ wonderful catalogue of writers. Greg Rees and the team - through their expertise, support and dedication - have been instrumental in spreading my darkest Irish imaginings around the world. And I couldn’t be more excited to work alongside them on my next two horror novels."
