Head of Zeus has snapped up two further thrillers in the DS Cross series by Tim Sullivan.
Aries editorial director Bethan Jones bought world English language rights from Sarah Hornsley at PFD, with the seventh and eighth instalments in the series set to publish in 2025 and 2026 respectively. The sixth DS Cross thriller, The Teacher (Head of Zeus), publishes on 18th January 2024.
"Set in Bristol, the series follows DS George Cross whose intrinsic need to follow logic and patterns paired with his dogged need to pursue the truth means his conviction rate is the best on the force," the synopsis says. "George does not operate on ‘gut-feelings’ or ‘hunches’ – he does not know what these are – and instead follows the evidence wherever it takes him, often regardless of whether his superiors agree."
Jones commented: “We saw a huge amount of growth in sales of the DS Cross series in 2023 – they almost tripled in just nine months – and, while it’s so gratifying to see so many readers reaching for these books, it is unsurprising. Tim’s thrillers always combine a unique blend of humour, darkness and heart with a tightly woven, intricate mystery."
Sullivan added: “I’m delighted to be working with Bethan and the team at Head of Zeus in bringing more George Cross novels into the world. Our partnership is working so well based on our mutual love for George and our determination to get a wider readership to make his acquaintance and feel the same.”
