Headline Home has acquired Five Steps to Financial Wellbeing by Clare Seal, author of Real Life Money and The Real Life Money Journal, which were both published by the Headline imprint in 2020.
Anna Steadman, senior commissioning editor, bought world English rights from Julia Silk at Charlie Campbell Literary Agents. It will be published in trade paperback, e-book and audio in March 2022.
In Five Steps to Financial Wellbeing, Seal will walk readers through five straightforward, achievable steps to change your relationship with money, and in doing so, change the rest of your life for the better. The book will also address the "deeper fundamentals" of a healthy relationship with money, from building self-worth to tackling consumerism.
Steadman commented: "Clare is such an exciting and refreshingly honest voice in this area. Her first two books have already helped so many people to get back on track with their finances, and this new one promises to do the same, but for an even wider audience. Five Steps is all about creating good habits for life, whatever age you are or stage you are at, and I can’t wait to publish it in March."
Seal is known on Instagram as @myfrugalyear and has more than 80,000 followers. She writes a regular column for Glamour and runs the Financial Wellbeing Forum.
She said: "I’m so thrilled to be publishing this new book with Anna and the Headline team. Despite big strides in recent times, there is still a huge disconnect between mainstream personal finance advice, and the people who need it most — I want to bridge that gap and to help people to change their relationship with money in a meaningful way, for good. With Five Steps, my goal is to drag personal finance from its place on the business and economics bookshelves and put it where it belongs — with health and wellbeing."
