Headline Home, an imprint of the Headline Publishing Group, has scooped Jane Lovett’s new cookbook, The Get-Ahead Christmas Cook.
Editorial director Anna Steadman acquired world rights from Heather Holden-Brown at the HHB Agency, for publication in crown quarto hardback and e-book in October 2024. Elly James is now representing the author, following Holden-Brown’s retirement earlier this year.
"The Get-Ahead Christmas Cook is the ultimate stress-busting guide for the festive period, with failsafe recipes that can be prepared and often made ahead, along with hints, tips and menus for the big day and beyond," the synopsis says. "Along with the classics, this book contains many original and delicious new recipes. Everything is covered, from canapés for Christmas drinks parties to hassle-free ideas for all kinds of seasonal entertaining, as well as foolproof recipes for the big day itself and creative tricks for using up leftovers, plus — if you have any room left — indulgent baking and sweet treats."
Steadman commented: "I was a fan of Jane’s recipes long before I was lucky enough to become her editor, and I’m so excited about this new book. Jane is the queen of deceptively simple yet impressive recipes, which is exactly what is needed over the festive period. I will never do Christmas without this book by my side!"
Lovett added: "I am so excited to share this book and hopefully to help transform an often stressful time into the fun, relaxed celebration it should be. In order to stay calm, unflustered and good-humoured in the kitchen, I need to do as much advance preparation as possible; hence most of my recipes have get-ahead elements."
