Headline pre-empts inspirational book from ex-Special Forces soldier Stott

Headline has snapped up the “inspirational” book from ex-Special Forces soldier and world record breaking cyclist Dean Stott in a pre-empt deal.

Senior commissioning editor Richard Roper scooped world rights from Rory Scarfe at The Blair Partnership. Relentless will be published in hardback on 3rd October.

Stott said: “‘This book pulls together all the important aspects of my life, and I could not think of a better team to help me bring this to life. Headline’s reputation speaks for itself and it is an honour to be working with both them and The Blair Partnership. I can’t wait to share my story with the world.”

Stott served 16 years in the forces, including six in the Special Boat Service, before leaving in 2011 following a parachuting accident. For the next five years he worked in the private security sector, earning a reputation for taking on any job, no matter how dangerous. In 2016, he switched to helping others,  attempting to cycle the Pan American Highway in record breaking time and raising money along the way for charities championed by his friend Prince Harry.

Roper said: “As soon as I heard about Dean’s story I knew he was something special. To serve at such a high level in the Special Boat Service is one thing, but to recover from a career-ending injury and turn his focus to breaking world records, raising money for good causes along the way, is something truly inspirational.”
