Headline is publishing a foodies' cookbook catering to gut health, Food for a Happy Gut: recipes to calm, nourish and heal by nutritionist Naomi Devlin.
Cookery publisher Muna Reyal bought world rights from Tim Bates at PFD, to publish in April 2017.
The book contains recipes that will both calm digestion and delight tastebuds, according to Headline, responding to growing recognition in the importance of gut health.
Headline says it will be the first to address the issue from a food rather than health perspective, with recipes in the book "not about eliminating food" but designed to "celebrate a wonderfully diverse range of foods, local produce and good home cooking that will calm and nourish your gut microbes".
Devlin, who is billed as a "fermentista and foodie" as well as nutritionist, has taught at River Cottage for six years. Her first first book, River Cottage Gluten Free, published with Bloomsbury.
Reyal, cookery publisher, said: "I had been looking for the right book on good gut food and when Tim [at PFD] rang me about Naomi’s proposal, I knew immediately this was the one. Naomi’s approach to gut health is so warm, generous and appealing – it will have a huge and eager audience."
Devlin said: "As soon as I met Muna I could see she understood that my book was primarily about delicious food and secondly about gut health. I have so enjoyed cooking, eating and writing about every last morsel and feel very excited about the beautiful book the team are bringing to life."
