Headline is publishing the official tie-in to the hit Netflix show "Queer Eye" authored by "the Fab Five" themselves, Antoni Porowski, Karamo Brown, Jonathan Van Ness, Bobby Berk and Tan France. The book is scheduled for this November.
The Netflix show, a reboot of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" that launched on Netflix in February 2018, has just been renewed for a third season. In the book, Queer Eye: Love Yourself, Love Your Life, the show's five gay male presenters will take readers behind the scenes with "intimate tell-alls" and offer practical guidance "to living and celebrating your best life".
According to Headline, the aim of the book is "to help readers create a happy and healthy life, rooted in self-love and authenticity". It has been organised into five chapters, moving beyond its authors' specialist areas of expertise (food and wine, fashion, grooming, home decor, culture) to touch also on topics like wellness, entertaining, and "defining your personal brand". Bite-sized "Hip Tips" and "Five-Minute Make-Betters" will meanwhile feature throughout.
Grace Paul, commissioning Editor, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Siobhan O’Neill at WME, on behalf of Margaret Riley King and Scout Productions. The book is publishing simultaneously in the US with Amanda Englander at Clarkson Potter, Penguin Random House.
Paul said: "'Queer Eye' is much more than a makeover show, it’s about so many things: love, smashing toxic masculinity, bringing happiness into people’s lives and changing people’s attitudes towards the LGBTQ community. This book will be the perfect companion for the show’s many fans and we couldn’t be prouder to be publishing this book."
Joel Chiodi, brand development at Scout Production, added: "We wanted to give our fans a whole new way to experience 'Queer Eye'. This book is our love letter to them. It’s filled with all sorts of new Fab Five stories, interesting facts, and great photos while retaining the heart of our show."
The US "Queer Eye" account tweeted this week: "Are you ready to read? Your favorite show hits shelves this fall as a book! You’ll get an exclusive look at the Fab 5’s lives—and tons of their Hip Tips to help change your own! (Tissues not included with purchase.)"
Queer Eye: Love Yourself, Love Your Life will be published in hardback on 15th November 2018.
