Headline has secured Hope this Helps: How to be Kinder to Yourself and Others, a guide on how to prioritise kindness from diversity and inclusion consultant and content creator Benjy Kusi.
Senior commissioning editor Katie Packer acquired world rights directly from the author. The book will be published on 2nd February 2023 in hardback.
Hope this Helps is a guide on how to feel and do better, offering guidance on how to approach difficult situations. Kusi covers topics from why it is not selfish to choose yourself, why it is okay to change your opinion and how to be kinder online. "Centring tolerance, kindness and empathy, the book takes us back to our roots as a human race of simply wanting to connect, be heard and enjoy life," the publisher wrote.
Kusi has worked to create educational online content that focuses on the importance of kindness and was named by Dazed in June 2022 as an "icon in the making" and by TikTok as a 2021 "voice of change".
Packer said: "This book is perfect for anyone finding the world overwhelming or anyone who wants to feel and do better. Benjy Kusi is a voice of care, empathy and warmth and ultimately wants to make our communities kinder and healthier. Hope this Helps is an antidote to the polarised world we are living in."
Kusi added: "I’m excited to have this opportunity, to share my vision of what it means to be kind today. Most of us have a desire to improve our lives, help those who need it and make the world a better place. But acting on this can be a daunting task. Hopefully, this book gives readers the encouragement and practical advice they need to practise kindness in their everyday."
