Octopus imprint Mitchell Beazley has acquired the first cookbook from HelloFresh, one of the world’s largest recipe delivery services.
HelloFresh Recipes That Work will include illustrated recipes that have been tried and tested by "hundreds and thousands" of customers and can be prepared within 30-45 minutes, curated by HelloFresh co-founder and head chef Patrick Drake. The company was launched in 2012 and now delivers in excess of 11 million meals a month.
Octopus publisher Alison Starling, who acquired English Language rights for the UK and some international territories from Antony Topping at Greene & Heaton, said the HelloFresh team had "a really strong vision" for the book from the outset that made working with them "hugely appealing".
Publishing as a £20 hardback on 3rd May, the collection promises to "not only transform the mid-week meals of the seasoned cook but [to] also teach the beginner how to cook", with all the recipes including photographed step-by-step instructions.
Drake commented: "I didn’t want to create a book that would just look good on the coffee table. I wanted to make a book that would become the most loved, reliable, sauce- spattered, page-folded go-to book in your kitchen. Every decision in creating the book was based around making delicious and fresh dinners and making life simple. I hope this book will be used as both a beginner’s guide for the uninitiated and a source of quick inspiration for the seasoned cook."
