Héloïse Press has signed Imperfect Bodies, the "uncompromising" memoir from Ali Isaac.
Publisher and founder Aina Martí-Balcells acquired UK, Ireland and Commonwealth rights from Charlotte Seymour at Johnson & Alcock for publication in March 2026. This is the first memoir to be signed by the publisher.
Imperfect Bodies "dissects societal and medical understandings of the female body, in all its forms, through the lenses of a mother of a girl with a rare genetic condition". In a "beautiful narrative", Isaac explores the pregnant, ageing and reproductive body and miscarriage to show how they are appropriated by public discourses.
